New Year. Better Style.

New Year's resolutions, in my opinion, can be cheap commitments. Every December you start hearing all these non-sense cries about this and that, but in the end most people don't really want to change anything. Actually, I'm being a bit cynical. Maybe they do but don't know how or don't have the dedication. Of course, I applaud those who actually do live out their resolutions. I even further applaud those who don't wait for January to finally curb procrastination and take charge of their lives. Such things merit applause.

Now, to my resolutions [drum roll] ... they are many. Some I'm enthused about because they are improvements on positive things that I've witnessed work in my life, some I'm frustrated with because I haven't given them the proper attention and priority earlier. Overall, though, I see my biggest improvement being the art of planning ahead.

Planning is, by nature, something that comes difficult to me. I wish it weren't but it is. I've always been one of those on a whim, capricious types that just goes wherever life appeals best at the time. On one hand, I see how it's a good thing. On the other, I see how it curtails my potential. For that reason it's my main focus for 2012.

It's a new year, and I'm planning it out ... with a better style.

Great New years resolution. I agree, people don't actually keep resolutions very long because you can't just change your life suddenly on the 1st of the year. I started my resolutions the 2nd week of Jan, and am slowly working my way to try a new one each week. good start on the planning though

Thanks! Yeah, change is tough, at least it is for most people (especially myself).

True! Gradually making changes, one thing at a time, definitely outweighs trying to do it all at once.
